Which car gives least insurance premiums

I recently saw an article on msn to compare what model of a car brand would give you lower insurance premiums. Here is a link to the msn article How risky is your car?, you select your brand e.g. INFINITI and see a list of models offered. Then look under column Liability and Damage to see what rating from A to E it has. Look below under Key to explain those ratings, A-C mean cost savers while D-E are higher.

I know this is not the highest priority when selecting a car but just another consideration to help save money.

Did you know - Paint a room

So you want to do something nice for home improvement, something that changes the look and gives a better feel out. Is it paint (the room) you're looking for? Yes, thats the first step in room decor. Your choice of paint color and pattern defines a theme on which you'd place furniture and accents in your place d'habitat. So I took on one of these projects last weekend and would be happy to share some knowledge while its fresh!

Checklist for Tools Needed

- Brushes

- Rollers

- Trays

- Empty Can

- Gloves

- Masking tape

- Ladder

- Screw driver (flathead and philips)

- Cover sheet (or tarp)

Checklist for Paint

- Paint box

- Paint color

- Primer

- Thinner

Precautions:

Be in good fit physical condition - the task may get very tiring and you need to be in good condition for climbing, de-climbing ladder, over the shoulder stretching of arms, bend down to sit (squat) or pick up and ofcourse the occasional imbalance
Attire - wear shorts, full sleeved t shirt, cap, socks - Some paint will definitely sprout on you from brush or roller or when opening the paint box and some more will touch you from wet walls. Usually nobody escapes it!
Applicator - spend good time to put masking tape before starting, mark boundaries. This is more time consuming that you'd think so actually you can do this one day before starting the paint
Cover sheet - cover the floor with a sheet. There are several available - plastic sheet, tarp, cloth. Plastic is cheap but sticks to your feet a lot while moving around. Plus it will waver and fly around with wind coz your window will be open for this process (why? coz you wanna paint to dry faster). Cloth/pad will be good - has better grip. Tarp is more expensive and be better utilized for covering objects that you cant move out of your way.
When painting with brush use a small can to dip the brush and fill the can to only 1/4th of brissels of the brush. Otherwise if you fill more paint in the can, the whole brush would get paint on it which would then drip. These small cans cans may be plastic or any container
Change roller pad after one coat. The reason being after a while of paiting with the same roller pad it dries up and you'll start seeing threads on the wall while painting. Dont worry, just squeeze out the old pad and put a new one on and get going.
Take out the tape right after the paint job is done
If you're putting light color on dark background, I suggest the traditional method of using primer first and then paint. The alternative is a primer+paint combo which may require fewer coats but then it may cause the final color to become darker than what you initially thought

Did you know - vehicle registration renewal

So it was that time of the year to renew my vehicle registration and get a new 2010 sticker for my Honda Civic licence plate. Determined to make a li'l use of web technology, I paid fee online and was happy to take care of the matter. When after 1 month I didnt get stickers in the mail, I contacted DMV. The 800-call was true to its character - long in waiting and fast in shutting me off. Just when my patience in keeping the call on hold was dying, I was rewarded for my persistence by a rep who answered only to tell me to hold again. Blessed I was that day, she returned back in a li'l while though.

The reason of my problem was brought down to change of address - I had moved last year and needed to notify DMV about that. And now I'd have to pay extra to have the sticker back! If I hadnt told them I'd moved, DMV would just give it to me for free. Whatta lesson. My wife went to DMV, paid extra fee and got me the stickers. How simple is that? Later I learned, adress can be changed online and then demand for a sticker to avoid extra charges.

So, just wanna share this with my readers, if you've had a change of address please inform DMV or do it online - best before applying for new stickers. With all this economic worries going around in the world, these penalties irritate you just a bit more. What else could I have done with the money? - movie+popcorn+soda, bowling game, dinner outside etc or buy a lottery ticket that could make me a millionaire from scratch...
